Road Safety Audits
We offer a complete Road Safety Audit service with staff who are qualified in accordance with HD 19/03.
Road Safety Audits (RSAs) are
- required to ensure that Highway Improvement Schemes will be safe for all
types of road user and that they will achieve the maximum road safety benefits,
- mandatory for all trunk road Highway Improvment Schemes including motorways
HD 19/03
The guidance contained in HD 19/03 is being embraced by most local
authorities to ensure good practice. It is a requirement that the RSA is
carried out by a team of qualified auditors who are independent of the
designers.
Road Safety Audits are required:
- at the completion of preliminary design (Stage 1)
- after detailed design (Stage 2)
- at the completion of construction (Stage 3)
- and at 12 months and 3 years after completion (Stages 4a and 4b respectively)
